Capricon Capricon was first held in February 1981, in Evanston Illinois. It continues to be held annually in the Chicago area, usually the first or second weekend in February. It is sponsored by Phandemonium, Inc. In addition to holding Capricon, Phandemonium promotes Science Fiction as a genre and supports the Chicagoland Science Fiction community.
